Pack your bags, we're going on a trip!

Go Pros, Facebook groups Like "Girls LOVE Travel" or ones that focus on mindfulness and wellbeing. What do they have in common? Millenials who thrive for the experience of a lifetime throughout trips that provide them stories and connections that go beyond LinkedIn. Globalization brought us diversity and a need to see the world beyond our backyard. Everyone wants to be interesting, exotic, culturally knowledgeable these days,  so what better way to introduce you to a Paradise on earth that isn't as mainstream or as far as Thailand but still in a completely different country?

Maragogi is a Brazilian town 3h away from the capital, Maceió, which happens to be my hometown. I've been several times to the area and I can say for sure that is one of my favorite places ever, and it's not hard to understand why. It's a great place to unwind from the chaos of big cities. The selling point of Maragogi is its crystal blue water view and the fact that still remains quite unknown to American tourists, we can't say the same to some Europeans who seem to love the place. Still, the price tag of Maragogi is nothing compared to The Maldives, for example.

One of my favorite hotels in the area
is Salinas Maragogi. It's a big complex with tennis courts, volleyball courts, kids areas, and a beach-side bar and also a theater for plays. There's always something going on at Salinas, even if you don't want to go to the beach. The hotel room is comfortable and it just makes you never want to leave!

It's all-inclusive menu counts with buffet 3 times a day, and I might be a little biased because I love Brazilian food but the Chefs at Salinas really deliver the best on each meal. One dish that is a must, especially for Americans is Feijoada. Indulge in one of the Brazilian classic foods!

Maragogi's most famous spot is for sure its natural pools which are called "Galés" by natives. And the most famous activity to do there is for sure snorkeling. It's quite an experience and I don't think I've experienced anything similar. In regards to the best time to pay a visit to this tropical destination,
I'd say anytime before June or July, because that's winter time in Brazil and
while it doesn't really get cold it still gets a lot of rain.

If you get a chance to interact with a native during your stay you'll find that Brazilians are the friendliest people on earth. (Ok, I might be a little biased on this one but I guarantee it's true!) We'll go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help you. We're lively and for sure know how to throw great parties, but at the same time we know how to take a break and run to our closest getaway, which used to be Maragogi in my case. So, has the travel bug bit you yet?
